Edward Lee Summers, a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1966 with a B.S. degree in Accounting, and from the Tennessee College of Law in 1969. Mr. Summers was awarded the Order of the Coif (top 10% of graduating class), and was the Articles Editor of the Tennessee Law Review. After graduation, Mr. Summers served as a law clerk on the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Mr. Summers has engaged in the general civil practice of law in Knoxville, with an emphasis in litigation and transactional law, for his entire career. He is licensed to practice in all Tennessee courts in the areas of general civil law and litigation, corporate and business entity formation, personal injury, estates and probate, domestic relations, and construction law. He is also an officially licensed mediator by the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Mr. Summers became a partner of Haynes Meek & Summers in 1974 and since that time has become a well-respected member of the legal community, maintaining a high standard in his work ethic and client relationships.
